Data Mining Specialist

Job Responsibilities

• Extract data: Retrieve relevant data from multiple sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and other systems, using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Transform data: Cleanse, validate, and format the extracted data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data quality standards.
• Load data: Import the transformed data into reporting systems and databases, ensuring proper mapping and integration with existing data structures.
• Manipulate data: Perform advanced data manipulation tasks, including aggregating, summarizing, and calculating key metrics, to generate comprehensive reports that support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with data analysts, business intelligence teams, and other relevant departments to understand their data and reporting needs and translate them into actionable data manipulation tasks.
• Performing data analysis using SQL, Python, R, or other tools to generate summaries, spot trends, and identify outliers. Staying up to date with the latest data analysis tools, techniques, and best practices. Continually improving data processes and the quality of analysis and reporting.
• Quality assurance: Conduct thorough data validation and reconciliation processes to identify and resolve any discrepancies or anomalies in the reports.
• Developing reports and dashboards that present key metrics and insights in a clear and visually appealing manner. These reports will be used by managers and executives to monitor performance and identify opportunities.
• Identifying data gaps and recommending ways to improve data collection processes to facilitate better analysis and reporting. This includes proposing new metrics and key performance indicators.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of data manipulation processes, methodologies, and transformations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Continuous improvement: Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to data manipulation and reporting and suggest process enhancements to optimize efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, mathematics, or statistics.
• Proven experience in data manipulation, data integration, or a similar role within the banking or financial services industry is advantageous.
• Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyse, and resolve data-related issues.
• Having knowledge in T24 is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data manipulation.
• Familiarity with any reporting tools and software (i.e. Tableau, Power BI, or Others) is advantageous
• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory requirements within the banking sector
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
